How we use cookies on this notebook.
This page explains, in plain language, what cookies we use on phrexxontholmare.world, why we use them, how long they stay on your device, and how you can change your mind. Last reviewed on 6 May 2026.
01 · What is a cookie?
A cookie is a small text file that a website asks your browser to keep. It can hold a short note, like the language you prefer, whether you have accepted our cookie banner, or a random number that helps us understand how many people have read a recipe today. Similar tools, including local storage, work in a comparable way; for simplicity we refer to them all as "cookies" on this page.
02 · The cookies we use
We try to keep this list as short as we can. We do not use advertising trackers, social media pixels, or behavioural profiling tools.
| Name | Purpose | Type | Lifetime |
|---|---|---|---|
| tdde123_cookies | Stores your cookie banner choice (accept all, reject, or custom). | Necessary | 12 months |
| tdde123_session | Keeps the navigation drawer state during a single visit. | Necessary | Session only |
| _an_visit | Anonymous, aggregated reading metrics — only set if you accept analytics. | Analytics | Up to 13 months |
| _an_lookup | Tracks which referral page sent you to a recipe — only with your permission. | Analytics | Up to 30 days |
| _mk_workshop | Used only during occasional workshop campaigns; remembers if you have already seen a notice. | Marketing | Up to 90 days |
03 · Categories
Strictly necessary
These cookies allow the site to work in a basic way: remembering your cookie banner choice, keeping the navigation usable, and storing form preferences. They cannot be turned off through the cookie banner because the site would not behave correctly without them, but you can always block them at the browser level.
Analytics
These cookies help us understand which recipes are read most often, which pages are difficult to find, and how the journal is generally being used. The data is aggregated and never used to identify a single reader. They are switched off by default and only used with your explicit consent.
Marketing
From time to time we run a small notice about a workshop or a printed booklet. Marketing cookies help us avoid showing the same notice twice and to measure whether the notice was useful. They are also off by default.
04 · Third-party tools
Some pages embed services from other providers — for example, an OpenStreetMap iframe on our location pages, fonts served from Google Fonts, and an icon library hosted on a content delivery network. These providers may receive your IP address and a basic technical fingerprint when their content is loaded. We choose providers with reasonable privacy practices, but we recommend reading their own policies if you would like to know more.
05 · Your consent
The first time you visit the site we show a cookie banner. You can:
- Accept all cookies, including analytics and marketing.
- Reject everything except strictly necessary cookies.
- Open the cookie settings panel and choose category by category.
Your choice is recorded in a small key in your browser's local storage and respected on every following page. You can revisit your choice at any time by selecting "Cookie preferences" in the footer of any page.
06 · Duration & storage
Some cookies live only for the duration of your visit and disappear when you close the browser tab. Others are stored for longer periods, as listed in the table above. We do not store any cookie for longer than is reasonably needed for the purpose described, and we never use a single cookie for two unrelated purposes.
07 · Managing cookies in your browser
You can also manage or delete cookies directly in your browser. Each browser handles this differently — links below open the relevant help page in a new tab.
- Mozilla Firefox — Settings · Privacy & Security · Cookies and Site Data
- Google Chrome — Settings · Privacy and security · Cookies and other site data
- Safari — Preferences · Privacy · Manage Website Data
- Microsoft Edge — Settings · Cookies and site permissions
Please note that blocking strictly necessary cookies in the browser may stop parts of the site from working as expected.
08 · Policy updates
If we change the cookies we use, we will update this page and refresh the "last reviewed" date at the top. For meaningful changes, the cookie banner will be shown again so you can review and confirm your preferences.
09 · Contact us & complaints
If you have questions about this policy or about a specific cookie, you can write to us at infocenter@phrexxontholmare.world or by post to 10 Rawhiti Street, Diamond Harbour 8972, Aotearoa New Zealand.
Cookies and online tracking sit within the broader scope of the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020. If you feel a request you've made of us about cookies has not been resolved fairly, you may also contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of New Zealand at privacy.org.nz. Readers in the EU/EEA or the UK may instead approach their relevant data-protection supervisory authority.
